Microsoft, Nvidia and established names such as Lenovo are all gearing up for a new wave of competition in the tablet market.
Despite reports to the contrary Lenovo executives are still dedicated to providing small-screen tablets. Redesigned lines are in the works for the company.
Nvidia is a giant in the PC gaming industry with tremendous video card sales. Tablets are the newest addition to their portfolio with the "Nvidia Shield Tablet." According to specifications and advertising it offers the "Most Advanced GPU" available in a tablet. Shield specifications include the Tegra 1K so it reportedly has the power to back up these claims. Nvidia is also holding a contest where you can win some equipment such as this.
According to a report in the Tech Times Microsoft is focusing more on their mobile options. A new $199 laptop and $99 tablet are on the horizon to compete in this market. Evidence suggests that they are moving their "mobile first, cloud first" philosophy into full swing.
Important financial sites such as the Motely Fool believe that these events are going to change the market. At the moment the iPad is still the champion in the tablet arena but many are sure that the competition is going to "heat up."
