As is always the case, as soon as consumers fall accustomed to their devices, an itch begins for when the next-gen smartphone will appear. iPhone aficionados have not long to wait, with a possible release date forthcoming for the iPhone 6.
While specs for both the iPhone 6 and the iPad Air 2 are still under wraps, there is no denying that they will hit the market soon – just in time for the holidays.
According to John Paczkowski, of Re/code, September 9 is the date to mark and clear.
While bold in nature, his prediction is based on Apples historical trend to release in September.
He writes, "Apple has scheduled a big media event for Tuesday, Sept. 9 — a date to which Apple numerologists will strain to attribute significance."
According to Yahoo Tech, "The iPhone 6 is expected to be a radical departure from Apple's previous iPhones. The handset is said to sport a much larger 4.7-inch display, compared to the iPhone 5s' 4-inch screen, as well as a faster processor for better performance and an improved camera. Various rumors also indicate that the next iPhone will use what's referred as a sapphire crystal display, which would make the handset's screen far more durable than the iPhone 5s'."
"Other reports point to Apple also launching an even larger 5.5-inch iPhone that would help the company compete with so called "phablets" like Samsung's massive 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3, especially in China."
The rumor mill is churning out release of the new iPad Air for October, again based on historical data. The iPad has been a wildly successful device and has been used in multiple applications Steve Jobs could only have dreamed of. Today, many restaurants and bars use the tablets as point-of-sale devices. Using an iPad POS, helps businesses cut costs and better manage sales and orders.
In addition to massive performance improvements, the iPad Air 2 will offer fingerprint scanning technology called TouchID, which was first featured on iPhone 5S. It is also supposedly waterproof, but there is no proof of that as of yet.
Outside of its staple offerings, rumors are spreading that Apple may have a smart watch soon in the works. While no names have been leaked, it will likely be called the iWatch.
