Social Media News: Is Banjo the next big thing?

While Banjo doesn’t have the same name as Facebook or Twitter, owner Damien Patton has created what could make other platforms out-dated within the next couple of years.

His creation monitors all the big name platforms and brings the latest news to its users within minutes. With billions of posts daily, his analytics engine uses image-processing technology and sources social media all over the globe to find out what is happening at any given moment.

Based in Las Vegas, Patton already has more than 20 big businesses using his service to broaden their brand, but Banjo does much more. With the help of the public, including users in Russia and China, his app can bring instant access of any big news from any city in the world to the finger tips of its users.

With the larger social media companies looking to filter much of its content, Patton believes the future success of his creation is to bring back real-time feeds from its users. The app breaks down stories by date, location, and content and allows anyone to find just what their looking for and fast.

Rewind is another terrific feature, it allows a user to turn back the clock, essentially bringing them all the news they want and missed as it happened, but in their own time frame.

Inc. online reported Patton and his site as the most important social media outlet that most of the public hasn’t heard of and the app has been displayed on the Today Show. While both bring some great public relations to the relatively young company, Patton believes users will get tires of handcuffs from the giant platforms and trend back toward the early days of social media and that belief could make this a company to watch over the next few years.
