Software app Poncho realized that people were already using their app to wake up to weather reports. Now the creative minds behind the app have added an actual alarm to the mix.
Are you a weather fan? Do you constantly check for storms or do you always like to check the weather when you get up in the morning to decide what you want to wear? Software company Poncho, a text/email based weather service that adds a touch of personality to make it interesting has launched an app for Apple iPhones that lets you wake up to weather reports.
According to technology publications such as Techcrunch, Poncho has always gone about delivering weather to users in unique ways. Rather than creating a fancy app that has weather, ,radar and other things common among the apps, their app focuses on user-friendly and specific information. The app attempts to provide weather information that users can really and find informative.
In addition to temps, whether or not it’s raining, or the other thing users find useful, the weather app includes funny and entertaining GIFs and entertaining weather copy.
What surprised Poncho creators was that people were using the app and the messages like alarm clocks already. When the company realized this was in demand, it quickly updated the app so that users could push buttons and set up an alarm. When the alarm goes off, users can look at their phones and get the weather forecast while they’re still stretching and trying to get out of bed.
Poncho has made sure to keep things like it always has been — fun. It reached out to to the same composers who created music for apps like Dots for the alarm.
Poncho has presented itself as potentially unlimited for other additions. For example, customized ads might also be added and presented to interested audiences along with the weather reports.
