Microsoft is using some interesting codenames for its new Lumias

The “Cityman” and “Talkman” names have been heard of for some time now. These are believed to be destined for a launch as the flagship Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL handsets, respectively.
Many have wondered what Windows 10 devices Microsoft will be making for the low and midrange though. Today, revered leaker @evleaks released the codenames of four new phones that are presumably in development now, as Neowin reports.
The names are “Guilin,” “Honjo,” “Saana” and “Saimaa.” Neowin says that Guilin is a Chinese city, Honjo a Japanese city, Saana a mountain in Finland and Saimaa a lake in Finland.
Although no context is given, it is safe to assume that these devices will sit below Cityman and Talkman in Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile line-up. Cityman is purported to have a 5.7-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM and an octa-core processor while Talkman will be similar but with a 5.2-inch QHD display, a hexa-core processor and a slightly smaller battery. Both will pack in 20MP PureView cameras.
After stating the codenames of the new Lumias, evleaks continued to reveal that Nokia developed and killed at least four Windows tablets in the past. The Lumia 2520, dubbed Sirius and a relatively unknown Windows RT tablet, was the only one to be released. Devices known internally as “Illusionist,” “Mercury,” “Pine” and “Vega/Atlas” never saw the light of day in public.
This news comes shortly after the discovery of Nokia’s never-released “Moonraker” smartwatch which used a design language very similar to that of Microsoft’s but appears to have been developed entirely by Nokia. Ultimately, the project was abandoned when Microsoft acquired the company in 2014 and presumably consolidated Moonraker into its own wearable, the fitness-orientated Microsoft Band.
