If you’re looking for a quality surround sound system at the lower end of the cost spectrum, there are quite a few name brands you can choose from. Plenty of options offer impressive wattage and multiple features for under $350.
It can be intimidating to navigate through the many specs and jargon associated with buying a home theatre system. Most importantly, you might be anxious about draining your wallet by shelling out for top-notch speakers, high-end receivers and the latest tech.
So here is a selection of quality systems with all of the extras you’d see at a much higher price point:
Samsung HT-E3500 — This wired surround system offers more than just the crystal clear sound that you’ve come to associate with Samsung. It has a total wattage of 500 and a subwoofer wattage of 100, which works to separate each sound with clarity and power. This system offers more than unbeatable sound; it also doubles up as a total home theater system offering a DVD/Blu-Ray player alongside 3D cinema capability and an FM Tuner, all for $179.
RCA RTB1016 — The RCA RTB1016 is a 5.1-channel wired speaker system with a 300 total wattage output. This tiny system is smart-capable and 3D-capable, with programs such as Pandora and Netflix already built into it. Once connected to a television, this system offers a 1080p view, giving your Blu-Ray discs and DVDs HD clarity around. Currently, this system is being offered at $149.
Sony BDV-T58 — When it comes to the best sound systems, the list wouldn’t be complete without a Sony product. For the price of $350, the Sony BDV-T58 offers a 5.1-channel wired system at an ear-blowing 1,000 total wattage output with a subwoofer output of 167 watts. This particular system is smart-friendly with a max resolution of 1080p for crystal clear viewing in addition to precision sound. It features a built-in DVD and Blu-Ray player with Internet connectivity and 3D capability.
Panasonic SC-BTT190 — The Panasonic SC-BTT190 has a special capability called AirPlay, which allows iOS devices to stream music directly to the system without any cords. In addition, this high-tech surround sound system offers smartphone control, smart connectivity and Dolby Decoders (which includes Dolby Digital 5.1, Digital Plus and Pro Logic II). Extra features that you’ll obtain for the $299 price tag include a built-in DVD/Blu-Ray player with 3D capability.
Sony BDV-E390 — This system is priced at $299 and packed with features that enable you to use the Internet and streaming services all at once.
