The iPhone 6S is here after Apple unveiled it in San Fransisco. The phones are already shipping in the United States and United Kingdom in select retailers and online.
Apple recently unveiled its latest version of the iPhone 6 at a recent trade event on September 9 according to several sources familiar with the matter. Apple’s newest incarnation is the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus models.
According to at least one source, the price for the phone is already confirmed for the United Kingdom (UK) market. Both phones are already said to be available for pre-order and are available in the Apple Store on September 25 there.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were unveiled at what was called a “Special Event” in San Francisco, California. These two phones were made available on pre-order on September 12. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will cost around 699 and 799 Euros respectively according to sources.
The phones may be available in three different colors including gold, space grey and silver. A 3D touch display, new photo preview styles and an upgraded camera were some of the new reported features. Three, O2, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile are reported to be some of the locations in the UK where the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus phones will be available for purchase. The phone will boast 64GB of hard drive capacity, costing around $230 to manufacture.
The new phones may become Apple’s best-selling phones to date if data from various groups is correct. These are only predictions, however, and the iPhone 6 release was a mass seller with unheard of figures as well in terms of mobile phone sales. They very well may sell more than 10 million units by the first weekend of the release. With Apple releasing phone after phone, the market is hot for these devices and many will consider trading in their old phones, a process made easier through various sites that accommodate trade-ins and offer price checks on old phones.
The 12 megapixel camera on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus phones are reported to be able to take photos with 50 percent more pixels than the previous iPhone model. Videos are said to be able to be captured with up to 8 million pixels per frame. Health and fitness conscious individuals may love the fact that the phone has a motion processor in the phone’s A9 chipset called M9 that can monitor fitness data at all times.
In the US, the phones may be quite a different beast, with reports of the September 25 release stating that the phone could cost between $200 and $300 at retail for the 16GB versions. The phone can be ordered with as much storage as 128 GB, according to one report.
