article imageDrone that will fly for two hours and fits in your pocket out now

By Kev Hedges     Oct 24, 2014 in Technology
Most of us will have heard about the drones seen flying over some football matches and across various fairs and other outdoor gatherings, now there's a drone that will fit easily in your pocket.
Moreover, this drone will fly for a good two hours, sending back high definition quality video. CyPhy Works' new Pocket Flyer drone weighs a mere 80 grams, it will fly for about two hours and send back high quality resolution video for two hours. Admittedly, the drone sounds like a irritated monster fly while in flight, but those of us who thought drones were exclusive to combat services checking enemy operations on the ground, will be amazed that the latest technological gadget could be a common sight over our gardens and skies in the next few months or years.
Usually anything that flies and is robotic-powered will only last up in the air for about 10 or 20 minutes at best; most of us will remember the flying robotic helicopters we flew around the office and watched in awe as it battled so hard against gravity, now the latest CyPhy Works' new Pocket Flyer drone has a micro-filament that provides a constant source of power to your mini drone.
The CyPhy Works' new Pocket Flyer drone is bound to set many thinking what kind of things you could use the drone for.
Sometimes called Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), drones were virtually unheard of just a few years back. But these tiny drones are now starting to cause a bit of a stir from football stadium owners to rain forests to stately mansion owners, as the drones can penetrate the airspace that has never before been shut off. However, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) prohibits the flying of drones over or within 150 metres of built-up areas. So it's a good idea to test out your drone in the countryside or above a forest.
