Seagate was amongst the first to reveal its CES line-up, announcing a range of new external storage devices including the Seagate Seven – an ultra-thin 7″ 500GB portable hard drive. It also announced a new range of Seagate Personal Cloud drives, offering a seamless storage solution for a family’s movies, music and more.

The company also took the wraps off a new wireless storage device, the 500GB Seagate Wireless drive. The idea of this drive is to combat the limited storage found on mobile devices, with users able to store and access files on the external device via a Wi-Fi network. The Seagate Wireless allows for up to nine hours use, with files managed via a Seagate Media app for iOS, Android, Windows 8 and Kindle.

Other companies also made a number of reveals today, including NVIDIA who announced its new super high powered mobile Tegra X1 processor. The X1 is a beast, using NVIDIA’s new Maxwell architecture and offering 256 GPU cores, a 64-bit CPU, improved 4K capabilities and vast power improvements. NVIDIA also revealed its new automotive platform, including the Drive PX — an auto-pilot supercomputer — and the Drive CX, a digital cockpit computer capable of processing up to 16.6 megapixels across many displays.

Withings — a Swiss made smartwatch — unveiled it’s new, cheaper Activité watch that promises up to 8 months battery life and a host of features including activity tracking and automatic time zone changes.

And Belkin expanded its WeMo line, adding four new sensors including door and window sensors, an alarm sensor to detect a smoke alarms sounding off, a keychain presence-sensing detector and a heat signature detector. A water leak detection sensor is also in the works, according to GigaOm.
