article imageHTC One 2 codnamed 'M8' set to release March 25, 2014

HTC wowed us once with the 'One' and it is time to see if they can step up to the next level. The uni-body aluminum design paid off big time and once again we wait for the next big design by HTC.
HTC chose to delay the launch of the One 2, code-named the 'M8,' till after the Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC). They have been publicizing this launch with Twitter updates via hashtag #SaveTheDate. No information have been provided regarding this launch other than the date is March 25 and the event will take place in London and New York at 4pm (GMT) / 11am (EST).
AnTuTu's benchmark reveals the same 4 MP camera on the HTC One 2, but there's a slight catch. HTC integrated a second camera supposedly to take care of the blur in out of focus images. This will be software controlled via an app that HTC reports still working on.
Specifications are still debatable, specifically RAM. Antutu's benchmark hints at 2GB of RAM like the first generation HTC One. However, some, TechCommunity.gr, still insist on 3GB of RAM. The HTC One 2 looks to support the Snapdragon 800 SoC processor clocked at 2.26 GHz. The latest version, Android 4.4, is also expected with the new HTC Sense 6.0 integrated.
Evleaks suggest color variations seem to follow the latest generation of Apple iPhone's. The three rumored colors are grey, silver, and gold variations following the 'elements' theme.
Finally, HTC sought to improve another key aspect of the second generation One. The internal wireless adapter is predicted to be a major improvement. More specifically, it is expected to house an 802.11a/b/g/n/ac connectivity.
Price is expected to be 550 Euros SIM-free and soon to drop to 450 Euros or about 599 U.S. dollar. Carriers are currently unknown, but it is expected to be available to all major players.
