article imageTechnology in a violent world - The monstrous Bozena Riot

By Karen Graham     Apr 2, 2017 in Technology
We are developing wonderful new technologies every day, from creating electrical power from the sun to advancing space exploration. However, our world has also become more violent and technology has answered with a terrifying machine called a Bozena Riot.
We do know that technology isn't limited to saving humanity from horrible diseases or the world from climate change, we also have created weapons of mass destruction we hopefully will never have to use. However, to handle the violence peculiar to our big cities, one company in Slovakia has come up with the ultimate tactical weapon for our police and sheriff's departments, and it is a doozie.
Called the Bozena Riot, it is actually a new and improved version of their original monster vehicle of the same name. At a formidable 18 tons, let's just say it will be a sure way for police forces to control unruly mobs, aggressive political protesters or overly excited football fans.

When fully functional, the monster machine is capable of laying waste to any crowd. The machine comes with a carrier, consisting of a fully armored cab with bullet-proof windows that protects the operator inside. It also has four-wheel drive allowing for more versatile maneuvering.
A monitoring system with CCTV cameras allows a view of what's in front and behind the machine. There is also a drone version of the machine that can be operated remotely from over a mile away.

The most impressive part is the 3,000-kilogram (6,614 pound) shield that acts as a barrier. The shield is 12-feet tall and when its wings are fully extended, can expand from 4.5 meters to 7.5 meters (15-feet to 24.6 feet) wide, enough to effectively block most streets. It's also fully armored and flameproof.
The shield also has something neat for law enforcement personnel. The shield has six handy gun ports to fire guns or other rubber projectile launchers while keeping the heavily fortified shooters safe and sound. Along the top rim of the shield are four nozzles for dispensing tear gas up to 30 feet. The shield is also equipped with police lights, siren and loudspeaker for use by the commander/leader, both for instructing the crew and also for appealing to the rioting crowds.

The Bozena Riot also comes with a water carrier, giving the operator the option of driving back crowds with a water cannon, and if that doesn't work, an additional water carrier can be added for use with a rear-facing water cannon to keep crowds at bay or put out incendiary device fires.
You might wonder if this militarized law enforcement monster will be coming to America anytime soon, right? Well, there has been a national discussion over the police getting too militarized, but with President Trump getting tough on crime and Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ pledge to stop monitoring out-of-control police departments, we might be seeing these monster machines on our city streets sooner than we think.
