By Markos Papadatos     Jul 9, 2018 in Technology
Mark Zuckerberg, the chairman and CEO of Facebook, has a major reason to be proud. He is reported to be the third-richest person alive worldwide.
i]CNN Tech reported that Zuckerberg is now ahead of Warren Buffett, who is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.. The CEO of Facebook has a net worth of $81.6 billion, as indicated by Bloomberg. Zuckerberg leads Buffet by $373 million.
Zuckerberg claimed this spot since Facebook shares increased by 2.4 percent. The stock of Facebook spiked approximately 15 percent in 2018. It was also reported by CNN Money that while Zuckerberg sat in for Congress' questioning, he made three billion dollars.
This news is quite interesting in particular since for the first in history, the three richest people worldwide are all in the technology sector. Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, leads with $141 billion, with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ranks as the second-richest with $94.2 billion.
According to Esquire, the top four richest men in the world (Bezos, Gates, Zuckerbeg and Buffett) are worth an amount that is equivalent to two percent of the American gross domestic product. These four distinguished individuals have more than two percent of all the wealth that is produced by the richest nation in the world.
