article imageWWE Network free for the month of November

By Zachary Stallings     Oct 30, 2014 in Business
Today Chairman and Owner of the WWE, Vince McMahon announced that for the month of November the WWE Network will be free.
The WWE is looking to make the WWE Network the backbone of the company for the foreseeable future. So is making the Network free for an entire month (pay-per-view included) just a crazy advertising plan or is the Network hurting?
Today the WWE announced its financial results for its third quarter, ending September 30, 2014. The WWE reported a net loss of $5.9 million, compared to the Net income of $2.4 million of last year. But in spite of the loss the Network added 31,000 subscribers in the quarter, which is a 4 percent increase from June, 30, bringing the number of subscribers up to 731,000.
The WWE also announced today that the WWE Network will be simplifying the Network price of $9.99 per month with no commitment, and the ability to cancel any time.
The WWE Network is growing, and looks to continue to grow as it expands to other countries.
The Network will be completely free for the entire month of November, with the pay-per-view Survivor Series included. The WWE is trying to show its fans, that still order the pay-per-views through their cable provider, that the WWE Network is a much better deal. For those people ordering the pay-per-view their paying close to $60 per event. The WWE Network is just $9.99, so mathematically if you put that $60 for the pay-per-view into the network, you will get six pay-per-views for the price of one.
Vince McMahon has been known for doing some pretty unorthodox things, so it should be no surprise that he would give away the network for one month, pay-per-view included.
The WWE is going through some changes right now. New young wrestlers like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt are coming to forefront, and leading the WWE into a new era. Also the future stars of the WWE are making a lot of noise, on the original WWE Network program NXT, giving the WWE fans a taste of whats to come.
The WWE has a lot going on, and with Vince McMahon's crazy idea, right now you can see it all for free on the WWE Network.
