Johnson earned a title shot after he stopped Gustafsson in the very first round on Saturday night at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Johnson won the fight after landing two hard punches that sent Gustafsson to the mat. Johnson took advantage of that and got on Gustafsson’s back and started to land more punches to his head.
Johnson praised Gustafsson’s skills, and he said that he felt bad that he felt bad to be the bearer of bad news, referring to him being the one to defeating Gustafsson.
When Johnson faces Jones, it will be Jones’ ninth attempted title defense. After Johnson won his fight, Jones took to Twitter and Tweeted that he feels great about fighting Johnson next.
Meanwhile, Jones defended his Light Heavyweight Title for the eighth time at UFC 182, which was held a few weeks ago. He ended up defeating Daniel Cormier after the judges scored the fight in his favor.
Jones has also defeated Gustafsson at UFC 165, which was held back in September 2013. Jones won that fight via decision,
