Tyson Fury calls out Wladimir Klitschko after trashing Hammer

Fury dominated the fight from the first round as Hammer failed to put up a good defense from Fury’s consistent jabs and power punches.

In the fifth round, Fury floored Hammer with a power shot but managed to survive the round. The succeeding rounds ended in Fury’s favor as Hammer failed to answer the bell in the eighth round with his corner throwing the towel to save Hammer from further punishment.

The referee ruled a technical decision (RTD) in favor of Fury.

In the heavyweight division, Fury is one of the most entertaining fighters as he moves in different directions and switches from an orthodox to a southpaw fighter.

“I’m here to entertain. I came here to box a very worthy opponent who was very tough. He took a lot of punishment and his corner knew they had to pull him out. I was going through the motions, really. It was a bit of flair and tear,” Fury said after the fight.

Fury believes he is ready to face heavyweight star Klitschko, having prepared for it in the past several years.

“I have come a long, long way in the last three or four years,” added Fury. “I went back to basic for this fight, and I’m a much improved fighter. And that’s why I’m ready for Klitschko next.”

It was Fury’s 24th win and he remains unbeaten in his professional career.

Hammer, who became known in the heavyweight division with his victories over heavyweight contenders Danny Williams and Kevin Johnson, suffered his fourth loss in his pro career.

With his loss, Hammer’s career record dropped to 17-4-0.
