Vargas wobbled Bradley in the dying seconds of the last round with a massive straight right to the chin but Bradley survived what could have been a knockout win for Vargas.

In the same round, Vargas had a short moment of victory when referee Pat Russel stopped the fight less than 10 seconds before the end of the round. Judges scorecards: 115-112, 117-111 and 115-112. Bradley by a unanimous decision.

Except for the second and 12th round, Bradley won all rounds as tallied by Fytehype in its round-by-round coverage of the fight as shown here.

In a pre-fight interview, Bradley was all fired up before the weekend fight, saying he wants to challenge unbeaten middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin and looks forward to a place in boxing’s Hall of Fame.

“I want to win another world championship at 147 and at 154 and then I’d even go to 160 for the right type of fight. I’d even fight Gennady Golovkin. I’m willing to face the best fighters out of there. I’m chasing the Hall of Fame. I want the best guys on my resume,” Bradley said.

With his unanimous decision win, Bradley will be on his way to realizing his dream to have a place in the Hall of Fame.

Vargas’ loss to Bradley was his first in 27 pro fights since he turned pro in 2008.
