Carter, speaking on Tuesday morning on
Sun News Network, said that if he had an opportunity to consult the NBA Players Association, he would "set the players free" in the wake of racist comments made by Clippers owner
Donald Sterling.
"I believe it's the right thing to do," said
Carter, who thinks Sterling believes his $80 billion arsenal of players are nothing more than assets. "Everything he does is really bent."
The NBA was slated to announce its decision on what to do about Sterling later on Tuesday, but Carter believes getting rid of the owner is a mistake. "He should sit there with his assets gone playing somewhere else and he can see the direct effects of this ignorance he's carried inside him."
