SEC Football: Updated power rankings heading into week five

Alabama figured to be tough and the top-ranked Crimson Tide haven’t disappointed. At 4-0, including last weeks big win over Ole’ Miss, this program is on track to play for another national championship and until someone can knock off the Tide’, they will continue to be the best team in the nation and number one in the conference power rankings.

The most surprising team and one now climbing the college football rankings is Texas A&M. The Aggies have won a couple close games against good teams and are building a confident football team. Quarterback Trevor Knight is a difference maker and the physical play from both lines make this a tough squad and another win this weekend at South Carolina and people all across the country will need to start taking notice of this squad.

Tennessee figured to have a good year, in fact most college football experts predicted big things from the Vols, but a close win in their opener against Appalachian State had some scratching their heads, but things have changed since that time as the offense, led by quarterback Joshua Dobbs has played much better and a comeback win over Florida now has this team in position to play for a conference championship.

The biggest disappointment in the SEC has been LSU and its led to the firing of head coach Les Miles, a shocking move that came on Sunday after another lose over the weekend. This program has too much talent on both sides of the ball to already have two losses, but making a change now is shocking and could make it difficult for the Tigers to rebound behind a new leader.
