Rapper 50 Cent bets $1.6 million on Mayweather to pound Pacquiao

Big bet on Floyd Mayweather

That’s the number he gave to the Breakfast Club boys at New York’s Power 105.1 radio show on Tuesday morning. 50 was there being interviewed along with fellow hip-hoppers Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks. They were promoting some EPs they’ve done and just jawing about a range of subjects.

He said that he did some calculating to come up with that figure but didn’t give the exact details of that calculating. But a $1.6 million bet for the man he called “the champ” it will be.

Now 50 Cent was once a part of Mayweather’s Money-team and while the boxer was in prison, 50 Cent claims he did all the foot work in setting up Mayweather’s promotion company ‘Money Mayweather Promotions, LLC’. Mayweather doesn’t exactly agree with him.

The affable 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson III) wanted money he said was owed him by Mayweather and a dispute resulted that seemed to have spoiled their friendship. For a time each sent out tweets trashing the other guy and it got so bad Mayweather’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., said his boy would thrash the much heavier 50 cent. Never happened though.

50 Cent: “Champ gonna smoke him”

Anyway, the man often simply called ‘Fif’ says that’s all over with. He also said that the focus Mayweather is showing right now is daunting and an indicator he’ll easily beat Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas, running his record to 48-0 and making 50 Cent even richer than he is now.

“I got the champ,” 50 Cent told the Breakfast Club. “The champ gonna smoke him. It’s gonna look like it was pumped up for no reason.”

With regard his work, 50 Cent, into promoting and all manner of business, will be going back to his roots this year and releasing his sixth studio album, ‘Street King Immortal,’ though the record has been delayed over quarrels with one of the companies involved. He’s sold over 30 million records worldwide.

50 Cent will be ringside in Las Vegas when the fight goes down. Expect him to buy the drinks after it’s over should Mayweather win. If Pacquiao should win? Expect his dispute with Mayweather to start all over again.
