article imagePhiladelphia Eagles Rumors: Top free agent and draft options

By Larry Seely     Jan 14, 2014 in Sports
Philadelphia - After a slow start and some quarterback controversy, the Philadelphia Eagles found their way and finished the 2013 NFL season with a 10-6 record and winners of the NFC East.
Despite the success of this past season, head coach Chip Kelly and the front office have some tough decisions to make and one is who will backup Nick Foles at quarterback?
Michael Vick is the best option, but the veteran would like to start. Finding a team might be difficult and that could have the 34 year-old back in Philly next season. The team did draft Matt Barkley from USC, but the rookie didn't play well when given some playing time and with Kelly's offense, Foles won'y likely make it through a full 16 game schedule unhurt.
Another area that must be addressed is wide receiver and with Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin both free agents, finding some help could be necessary. Another problem is a possible holdout by DeSean Jackson, which would leave the Philadelphia Eagles with some big question marks heading into 2014.
The good news for the team and its fans are most of last years starters are returning and Kelly will use the draft to add players that fit his unique playing style. More speed will be added at several positions, especially on defense and the latest mock drafts have the team adding help at linebacker and safety.
