article imagePhiladelphia Eagles Rumors: Best WR options from NFL Draft

By Larry Seely     Mar 30, 2014 in Sports
Philadelphia - The release of DeSean Jackson this past week might of helped in the locker room, but it will hurt the Philadelphia Eagles on the field. With little depth at the position, it's clear the team will use the upcoming NFL Draft to find some help.
Luckily the front office will have a solid group of wide receivers to choose from and it won't necessarily be with the first round pick, but for fans of the team wondering who Philly might select in the first week of May, here is a look at the top prospects and how they might fit into Chip Kelly's offense.
Walterfootball has released their latest mock and they have the Eagles using a first round choice on USC wide out Marquise Lee. The former Trojans star is a versatile player with great hands and above average speed, not much different then Jackson, but Lee played best when paired with another talented wide receiver in college and that hurt his draft stock over the last year.
If the team decides to wait until round two, look for a player like Allen Robinson from Penn State as the selection. Robinson has good size at 6'2" and 220 pounds and a frame where he could add another 10+ pounds over his career. With decent speed, but terrific hands, this youngster is more of a possession wide receiver, but the type of player the Philadelphia Eagles need to move the chains and a big target they could use in the red zone.
The NFL is all about depth and while this team was successful last year, they must continue to add more talent at key positions and finding a receiver is a must for this franchise to continue the momentum they built in 2013.
