Pagara brothers gear up for ‘Duel in Dubai Part 2’

Jason and Albert are brothers and it would be their first time to fight overseas. Jason (35-2-0, 22 KOs), the older bother of Albert (23-0-0, 16 KOs) will face Ramiro Alcaraz of Mexico in a 10-round light welterweight fight while Albert will collide with Jesus Rios (also from Mexico) in a junior featherweight contest.

Alcaraz (15-4-1, 9 KOs) is coming off a TKO win against Jonas Olivas at Sindicato Gastronomico, Sinaloa de Leyva, Sinaloa, Mexico in December last year while Rios (31-7-1, 25 KOs) is fresh off a TKO win against Aram Valle in the same venue last May.

Albert, who is unbeaten in his pro career, will defend his IBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight title which he won from Mexican Hugo Partida via TKO at the Waterfront Resort & Casino in Cebu City last year.

“There are many Filipinos in Dubai. We hope to entertain them,” Albert said.

For his part, Jason said he will go for a KO win.

“If I catch him I’ll finish him off. Of course, we want a knockout. But not in the first round so the people will be happy,” said the elder Jason. “Maybe three rounds,” he added.

Also featured in the Dubai card is veteran Jimrex Jaca of Dumaguete City against another Mexican, Pablo Lugo Montiel.

The Dubai weekend boxing event is presented by ALA Promotions in collaboration with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation of the Philippines.
