Gabriel Salvador, the waiter who claimed to have facilitated the meeting between CBS/Showtime Chief Executive Officer Les Moonves and Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said he made a deal with Roach and company for setting up the meeting.
TMZ.com writes: “According to docs obtained by TMZ Sports … Salvador eventually got all 3 men together at Scarpetta in Bev Hills in May 2014. For setting up the sit down, Salvador says he told all parties he wanted a ‘customary finder’s fee’ of 2% of gross proceeds earned by Pacquiao, Roach and CBS/Showtime from the fight.”
In the suit, he says Moonves and Freddie Roach agreed to the terms and Roach even said, “You will never have to work another day as a waiter in your life.”
“Salvador admits he got a ticket to the fight, one night at a Vegas hotel and a $10,000 check to cover expenses.”
Apparently Salvador had talked to Moonves later after the fight to collect what was agreed between him and Roach but Moonves told him he should instead collect from Roach and Pacquiao, saying CBS did not make money on the fight.
Salvador hopes to collect more than $8 million for his services.
Pacquiao and Roach, who are still in General Santos City in the Philippines have yet to respond to the alleged lawsuit.
Roach is conducting the first phase of Pacquiao’s training at MP Wild Card Gym in GenSan for his farewell fight against Timothy Bradley on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Hall of Fame trainer along with Pacquiao’s training crew will move to Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Hollywood early next month for the second and final phase of Pacquiao’s training.
