In the survey conducted from March 30 to April 2, Pacquiao, along with fellow senatorial candidates Leila de Lima and Migz Zubiri, landed in the Magic 12 and ranked 5-7. The survey covered 1,500 respondents nationwide with ±3 percent margin of error.
Pacquiao, who is running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of presidential candidate Jejomar Binay, failed to join the campaign sorties as he had to prepare for his April 9 fight against Timothy Bradley which he won convincingly via a unanimous decision.
The official campaign period ends on May 7, giving Pacquiao just three weeks to campaign.
Despite his inability to campaign, Pacquiao managed to stay in the winning circle in all the surveys from the time her filed his candidacy late last year except in February when he was eased out of the Magic 12 because of his controversial statement on same-sex marriage which drew outraged from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community..Read more.
Pacquiao returned to the country Thursday and after the usual welcoming ceremonies, he is now ready to join the campaign trail.
In his arrival statement, Pacquiao said he has retired from boxing to spend more time with his family and to pursue his career in politics.
