Pacquiao, Bradley gear up for Los Angeles, New York press tour

Pacquiao and Bradley will be joined by their respective trainers Freddie Roach and Teddy Atlas. They will face the media and will be assisted by promoter Bob Arum, who promotes both fighters. Arum will preside in the Beverly Hills Hotel conference.

The details of the April 9 fight are expected to be announced by Arum during the conference, including the supporting bouts.

Pacquiao is coming off a long layoff from the sport following his unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It took Pacquiao almost a year to recover from his surgery to repair a tear in his shoulder rotator cuff.

Pacquiao and Bradley fought twice, with Bradley winning a controversial split decision in their first encounter while Pacquiao won by a unanimous decision in a rematch last year.

Pacquiao, who is seeking a senate seat in the May 9 national elections in the Philippines, is expected to start training right after the New York leg of the press tour.

Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz wants the eight-division world champ to train in the US for the full eight-week training camp leading up to the fight on April 9 but Pacquiao needs to campaign nationwide to ensure that he remains in the winning column of the pre-election surveys until election day.

In the last survey, Pacquiao ranked between 7th and 10th place in the survey conducted by Pulse Asia for ABS-CBN News last Nov. 8-14, 2015.

It is possible Pacquiao will train in the Philippines for four weeks and move to Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Hollywood for the remainder of the training. Roach has yet to disclose Pacquiao’s training schedule as well as his sparring partners.
