PAC 12 Football: Stanford leads power rankings after week four

Stanford isn’t flashy and they don’t rack up huge wins, but they do continue to defeat everyone on the schedule and with one of the best all-purpose players in college football, Christian McCaffrey and company top the conference power rankings and their game against Washington on Friday night will likely decide which program will continue their quest of making the NCAA Football playoffs in January.

The Huskies are now ranked inside the top-10 and just seem to find ways to win football games. With one of the better defenses in the nation and a solid offense, this team is dangerous and its contest against the Cardinal this week is the biggest game for the program in years. If the Dogs’ can run the ball effectively, look for Washington to pull the upset and open some eyes of college football fans all across the country.

Utah needed a late touchdown to beat the Trojans this weekend and that victory has the Utes 4-0 and now ranked 18th, but they face a Cal offense this weekend that can light-up the scoreboard, but another PAC 12 win this weekend and this team will be knocking on the door of the top-10.

The surprise team in the conference is Arizona State and despite allowing over 600 yards against the Golden Bears, the Sun Devils scored 31 points in the fourth quarter to get the win and improve to 4-0 on the year. This weeks game at USC is big and another win, which isn’t out of the question and ASU will start making college football experts take notice of the program.

Colorado and Oregon are next on the power rankings with both teams having some early season success. The Buffaloes offense has been key to their success and a win over the Ducks on Saturday was the biggest for the school in the last decade. The loss hurt the Ducks, but with the conference struggling, they still have a shot for a successful year if they can start playing a bit better on defense.
