First, the people who have already watched the fight twice would like to find out if indeed Pacquiao’s shoulder injury is fully healed.
Pacquiao has used his shoulder injury as the reason why he lost to Mayweather and fans would like to find out if his claim is true.
“Three weeks before the fight I got a tear in my right shoulder,” he said. “It got better but it wasn’t 100%,” Pacquiao added, following his fight against Mayweather on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A win over Bradley would validate Pacquiao’s claim that he has indeed been healed and will be ready to prove it when given an opportunity to face Mayweather for the second time. Fans are interested to see Pacquiao put up a good fight against Bradley because it will support Pacquiao’s claim that he had only one good hand when he lost to Mayweather.
For the educated boxing fan, this is the only compelling reason why he would still buy a ticket to watch the fight for the third time.
In the case of Bradley, he will have to show that his new Trainer Teddy Atlas can help him duplicate his performance over Brandon Rios. Atlas was largely credited for Bradley’s successful defense of his WBO welterweight tile against Rios.
But Pacquiao’s longtime trainer Freddie Roach said Atlas failed to bring anything that improved Bradley’s performance in the ring.
Asked if there is anything that Atlas did for Bradley in that fight, Roach said: “Well, I don’t think Teddy Atlas brought anything out of him. I thought he fought an opponent who’s fat and out of shape. I mean, you can’t really judge him on that fight. The other fighter was way overweight and looked terrible so, I’ll give Teddy Atlas credit if, he does well against (Manny) Pacquiao,” he added.
Still, fans may wish to find out if indeed Atlas is a factor in a possible win by Bradley and that could persuade them to see the fight for the third time.
Other than these two compelling reasons, fans see no other justification to watch the fight for the third time as they are aware that the result would still be the same.
