On September 26, it was announced that Olympic gold medalist swimmer Ryan Murphy earned two 2018 Golden Goggle nominations.
He is up for the Golden Goggle award for "Male Race of the Year," where he secured a nod for his 100 meter backstroke race at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships. Other nominees include Zane Grothe's 800 meter freestyle race at the Pan Pacific Championships, Chase Kalisz' 200 meter individual medley, as well as Michael Andrew's 50 meter freestyle race at the Pan Pacific Championships.
Murphy also scored a nomination for the prestigious "Male Athlete of the Year" Golden Goggle award, which honors the top male swimmer of the year with special focus on the achievements at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships. He is nominated alongside Chase Kalisz and Jordan Wilimovsky.
On September 29 and 30, Ryan Murphy and Jacob Pebley's "Back 2 Back Swim Camp" is taking place at the Rinconada Park Pool in Palo Alto, California.
The Golden Goggle Awards are presented by the USA Swimming Foundation. They honor the top achievements in the sport of swimming in the past year.
