article imageOakland Raiders Rumors: Josh Freeman headed to Silver and Black?

By Larry Seely     Jan 22, 2014 in Sports
Oakland - For the first time in years, the Oakland Raiders are in good shape to make some major roster changes. The team has money to spend on free agents and several picks in the 2014 NFL Draft, which is good news for fans of the Silver and Black.
The latest rumors have 26 year-old quarterback Josh Freeman linked to a possible move West. The young signal caller has ties with Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson from their days in Tampa bay and Oakland needs to add a veteran into the mix at quarterback, even if it's in a backup role.
Freeman was released by the Buccaneers during the 2013 season, but Minnesota quickly signed the quarterback. Injuries hurt his chances of playing for the Vikings, but now a free agent, look for his agent to pick the best opportunity for his client to start and with the lack of depth in Oakland, it could be a good match for both parties.
Freeman could decide to play for a winning organization as a second stringer in 2014, but to get the money he wants, finding a starting job or a place where he will get some playing time is essential and with several good years still ahead, it will be an interesting off-season for the free agent signal caller.
