NHL Trade Rumors: Evander Kane to Canucks still possible?

A closer look at the club and there biggest weakness heading into this season is still a cause for concern. Despite opening the year 4-0-0, this franchise is still struggling to score goals and its hard to imagine they continue their winning ways by averaging 2.5 goals per game.

There was plenty of speculation during the summer that the front office was going to make a big move. They did add some depth, but not the big name scorer fans expected. Trade rumors are still hitting social media regarding this franchise and for this squad to have any hopes of making some noise this season, making a deal is in their best interest.

Last month Gabriel Landeskog was linked in trade rumors with Vancouver and another Avalanche player, Matt Duchene is now reportedly on the trading block, especially if Colorado struggles in the coming weeks, but the big name being mentioned most is Evander Kane and despite a recent injury that will keep the Sabres youngster off the ice for a few weeks, reports still have the 25-year-old heading back to his hometown.

Kane has become an enigma with the talent to be one of the games best, but off ice issues that make some wonder what’s going on in his head. There have been stories that a return home could settle the young man down with family and friends around to help and if that’s the case, it would be worth the gamble for the Canucks, especially if he could help build on the early season momentum this hockey club has established.

It might seem a big early in the year for deals, but capitalizing on success is key to winning. Making a deal in the coming weeks could be just the move this franchise needs to enjoy a successful season and possibly have this franchise back in the NHL Playoffs where they belong.
