NFL Trade Rumors: Nick Foles to San Francisco 49ers?

With the front office finding the new leader for an offense that has struggled over the last decade, rumors have started on what could happen with Nick Foles and Case Keenum and most experts believe the team will trade one of the other signal caller before the start of training camp.

Foles is probably the best trade target, especially with the success he had in Philadelphia and with former head coach Chip Kelly now in San Francisco, reports have surfaced that the two could be reunited, maybe even before the weekend is over.

The 27-year-old played 13 games for the Eagles in 2013, finishing the year with nearly 3,000 yards passing, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, but despite a terrific year, he was dealt to the Rams in exchange for Sam Bradford.

With the Rams, the former third round pick has struggled to stay healthy and productive. Playing in just 19 games over the last two years, Foles has thrown 20 interceptions and just 20 touchdown passes, but many believe it has more to do with the play makers Los Angeles has on their roster and a lack of protection from a mediocre offensive line.

The 49ers have also struggled offensively over the last couple of years and Kelly was hired to get this unit back on track and to win football games.

Colin Kapernich has digressed over the last three years and appeared to lose confidence before being replaced last year by Blaine Gabbert. Adding a player like Foles with increase the competition level for the franchise at the quarterback position and a return to previous form, could have this team back in the fold for a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
