article imageNFL Trade Rumors: DeSean Jackson to San Francisco 49ers?

By Larry Seely     Mar 20, 2014 in Sports
San Francisco - It seems the front office for the Philadelphia Eagles has had enough of the antics on and off the field from wide receiver DeSean Jackson and could now look to trade the youngster for another player or picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has reported that despite 82 catches for over 1,300 yards last season, the former second round pick continues to create distractions, including wanting a new contract after just signing a new deal for five years and $51 million in 2012.
Rumors have surfaced that San Francisco has already made inquiries about the 27-year-old, which makes sense considering the lack of depth the 49ers have at the position.
Derrick Gunn of CSN Philly has reported the team could get a second or third round pick for the speedster. Gunn has also reported that New England has also made a call to the front office of the Eagles about Jackson.
With the passing game so prevalent in the NFL, adding one of the most productive wide receivers in the game makes sense, especially if a coach believes he can work with a disgruntled player. With Harbaugh and the 49ers already making news this off-season, this could be the trade that gets this team over the top and after three straight years of making the NFC Championship game, finally get that ring that has eluded this franchise since the glory days.
