NFL Trade Rumors: Adrian Peterson to Oakland Raiders?

With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, trade rumors are running wild on social media and Adam Caplan of ESPN has reported that Minnesota is looking for at least a first round pick for the 30-year-old.

One team that’s been quiet this off season is Oakland, but with plenty of room under the salary cap and the third overall pick in the first round, speculation is surrounding the Silver and Black on a possible trade.

The biggest issue, besides his age, is that several other teams are also showing interest, including Dallas and Arizona, but clearly Oakland holds the best hand as the front office has the draft picks, money, and the motivation to make a deal.

Peterson was suspended for the 2014 season after an off field incident regarding the way he disciplined his child, but his recent reinstatement has created a buzz among football fans and created a media storm of where he will play this year.

Mark Clayton of ESPN believes he and the Vikings will have no choice but to get along and he will stay in Minnesota for at least the next twelve months, but with his demand high, it would prove difficult if the Raiders or another NFL team made an offer of two or three picks in this years draft, especially with the team needing more talent and depth to compete in the tough NFC North.

The next couple of weeks will be interesting as more stories and rumors involving one of the best backs in the history of the league emerge. Both he and the Vikings will look to get all of this in the rear view mirror and a trade that benefits both parties could become the only option that works.
