article imageNFL Scores: Eagles roll past Chicago 54-11

By Larry Seely     Dec 23, 2013 in Sports
Philadelphia - Philadelphia and Chicago are both still fighting to win a division title, but the Eagles looked like the team playing the best football at the right time as they handled the Bears easily 54-11.
The Eagles jumped to a quick lead, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter to open a 21-0 lead and Chicago never threatened to make it a game, but both teams will still need a win next week to win their respective divisions and move on to the NFL Playoffs.
Nick Foles continues to impress as the second year quarterback guided Philly to over 500 yards in offense. Foles completed 21 of 25 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns, increasing his lead with the highest quarterback ranking in the league.
The Eagles ran the ball very effectively against the poorest rushing defense in the NFL, gaining 289 total yards on 36 carries, LeSean McCoy led the way, rushing for 133 yards and two scores on just 18 carries.
Philadelphia plays Dallas next week with the winner taking the NFC East. Chicago can also capture the NFC North with a victory over division rival Green Bay.
