Week eight has some terrific match ups and it all gets started with an AFC South battle between Tennessee and Jacksonville. While most fans won’t think much of this contest, bot the Titans and Jaguars are just one game back in the loss column to first place Houston.
The Titans offense is starting to click behind second-year quarterback Marcus Mariota, but the defense struggled in a 34-26 loss to Indianapolis on Sunday. The Jags’ have surprisingly struggled to move the ball and until Blake Bortles gets back on track with his receivers, look for the Titans to hold the advantage and with the help of the home crowd, should get the big win and stay in contention for a division title.
New England hits the road to face Buffalo, who beat the Patriots earlier in the year in a crucial AFC East clash. The Bills four game winning streak was snapped in week seven with a tough 28-25 loss to Miami, but the team returns home and could move to within one game of the Pats’ with an upset victory, but its going to be tough as Tom Brady has returned with a vengeance and with his guidance, look for New England to pullout the win and stay on top of the NFL power rankings as the best team in football.
Sunday night has a terrific NFC East contest with two rookie quarterbacks looking to keep their respective team on track. Carson Wentz and the Eagles travel to Dallas, facing Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. ‘America’s Team’ is 5-1 on the year, but face a Philly squad that just handed Minnesota their first loss of the year.
This game has all the makings for a tight battle that will come down to mistakes, something both quarterbacks have limited in their success this season. The Eagles defense will need to shutdown the Boys’ running game, but its not likely to happen. Look for the Cowboys to send the home crowd happy and extend their division lead with a win on Sunday.
