article imageNFL Rumors: Tim Tebow to Chicago Bears?

By Larry Seely     Oct 24, 2015 in Sports
Chicago - The Chicago Bears are a mess and despite winning two of their last three NFL games, the offense is averaging just 20 points per game and the quarterback position is struggling, leading fans of the team to hit social media asking for a change.
It was reported earlier in the month that fans have flooded the front office with suggestions to help the team and that adding free agent Tim Tebow was tops on the list. The Inqisitir ran the article after Jimmy Clausen proved he wasn't the answer after failing to put any points on the board against Seattle.
Jay Cutler has since returned to action, but the fans know that the veteran signal caller isn't the man for the job and waiting until the next springs draft to find help, only means this franchise will suffer through another few seasons of losing football games.
During the preseason with Philadelphia, Tebow looked sharp at times, despite playing with the fourth team. His mechanics have improved and there's little doubt about his leadership skills. With his ability to run the football, Chicago would have a duel-threat quarterback and someone that has actually played well in the playoffs.
The 28-year-old has accounted for 29 touchdowns in his brief NFL career and despite not playing a down in the league for the past two years, would bring a buzz to the Windy City and generate some good publicity for a franchise that has struggled to create any positive moves in recent history.
The Chicago Bears are going nowhere this season and with the current situation at quarterback, it couldn't hurt to add a player the fans want. It might not win many games for the team this year, but it would fill seats and help with TV ratings and with a few game sunder his belt, who knows, he just might be the player this team needs to start winning football games.
