article imageOakland Raiders Rumors: Arian Foster signing still possible?

By Larry Seely     Jul 3, 2016 in Sports
Oakland - With the start of NFL training camps just around the corner, some quality veterans are still searching for a home. Here's a closer look at the top offensive free agents that are still available and where they could play in the upcoming football season.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is still the biggest story this summer as the veteran quarterback and NY Jets have yet to reach a new contract. With New York holding all the cards, nearly every team in the league is set with a starter, it seems unlikely the 33-year-old will play anywhere else in 2016.
The Oakland Raiders are on the verge of being a playoff contender and one of the best young teams in the league, but with youth comes inexperience and that could hurt their chances this year. With a dynamic group on offense, this franchise needs some depth at running back and that has led to several rumors of Arian Foster wearing the "silver and black."
Foster is recovering from a torn Achilles, but the veteran is nearly back at full speed and with his history of injuries, a backup role could lengthen his career. With the Raiders on the upswing, the 29-year-old would be a great third down option and a terrific insurance policy for a team that is so close to breaking down the door.
Wide receivers have become one of the most important positions in the NFL. Kansas City is one of the few teams that lack real depth at the position and with veterans Anquan Boldin and James Jones still on the open market, the Chiefs front office could fill that need with one of these wide outs.
Boldin had a good year with San Francisco last year and has four straight seasons with 65 or more receptions. Those kind of numbers defy his 35 years of age and could be just what Kansas City needs to win the AFC West this year.
