article imageNFL Power Rankings: Don't look now, Raiders rising quickly

By Larry Seely     Oct 3, 2016 in Sports
Oakland - Denver became the first NFL team to reach four wins on Sunday with a convincing 27-7 win over Tampa Bay, but the Broncos aren't the only AFC West side making noise. The Oakland Raiders moved to 3-1 wit a come from behind victory against Baltimore.
With the Vikings yet to play, Denver tops this week's power rankings. But the 'Silver and Black' have been very impressive with three wins already on the road. With home dates against the Chargers and Chiefs the next two weeks, Jack Del Rio's squad could move into the top-5 with wins against their rivals.
Win or lose the Vikings will remain second this week, but with the defense playing the best in the league and Sam Bradford taking to the team like water, it could be a big year for the NFC North franchise, especially if they get the running game going anytime soon.
The big shock was in New England as the Patriots where shutout at home by Buffalo 16-0. Not all is lost, as Tom Brady will return next week, as will the offensive production. A 3-1 start without their future Hall of Fame quarterback is a better start to the season than most experts expected.
Pittsburgh rebounded nicely after a shocking lost last weekend, defeating Kansas City 43-14, moving the Steelers back into the top five of the power rankings and knocking the Chiefs into the middle of the pack with a 2-2 record.
The LA Rams are another great NFL story, especially after their week one debacle at San Francisco, but the team has rallied with three straight wins, including an upset on Sunday at Arizona. This team is winning with strong defense and limited mistakes on offense and for those who scoffed at Jarred Goff not starting at quarterback, Case Keenum is keeping this franchise competitive and on top of the NFC West with a 3-1 mark.
