Miami Beach - The top NFL free agent running back is now off the board as the Miami Dolphins have signed former Denver Broncos star Knowshon Moreno to a contract on Thursday.
Miami ranked near the bottom in the league last year in rushing with Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas in the backfield. The two youngsters combined for over 1,100 yards, but both found trouble finding the end zone.
Moreno made a visit this past week to South beach, but left without a deal, leading many to believe the team had other plans, but the one year deal was inked and now the 26 year-old will bring his talents to the Sunshine State.
Last season was a breakout year for the former first round draft pick as he rushed for over 1,000 yards and added another 548 yards in the passing game, but the Miami Dolphins are more interested in his 13 combined touchdowns.
Miami now has a dynamic runner to team with quarterback Ryan Tannehill and a player that has experience and leadership skills and the hope is that will be enough for this franchise to breakthrough and make the NFL Playoffs in 2014.
