article imageNFL News and Rumors: Tim Tebow to Dallas Cowboys?

By Larry Seely     Aug 4, 2016 in Sports
Dallas - The first week of training camp and the Dallas Cowboys have already been hit with bad news as backup quarterback Kellen Moore has broken his ankle and could miss the entire 2016 NFL season.
This team already had plenty of rumors swirling around them before the injury, and now it has hit social media hard with fans and experts giving their opinions on what to do next. One thing is clear, after watching the offense sputter when Tony Romo went down last year, finding the right choice could play a big role in how this team performs this season.
Mike Glennon was considered a trade target earlier this year and several reports have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup as a logical choice. But one player that has led a team to the playoffs and has excellent leadership skills, is Tim Tebow; and despite not playing a regular season game since 2012, reports have the former Florida star as being in the best shape of his life and ready to give football another shot, but only if the right opportunity comes about.
The 28-year-old was impressive in last summer with the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, most reporters that watched the former Heisman Trophy winner play, believed he would win the backup job in Philadelphia, but Chip Kelly decided otherwise and after a disastrous season, was fired.
Tebow was a first round pick by Denver and helped to guide the Broncos to a spectacular playoff win against Pittsburgh, but his long release became an issue and he soon found himself playing with the NY Jets. His training last year shortened that delivery and his strength and mobility have never been an issue and with the Dallas Cowboys one hit away from being mediocre. A return to the NFL is very possible and it wouldn't be the worst signing Jerry Jones has made as the franchise owner.
