article imageNFL Fantasy Football: Week 5 wide receiver rankings

By Larry Seely     Oct 3, 2016 in Sports
Its hard to believe that one position can make such a difference in fantasy football, but having a solid group of wide receivers and knowing who to play each week is imperative.
With the NFL now a pass-happy league, owners need to research players and match ups each week to get the most from their roster. Here's some advice on who to start in week five and some short-term solutions for those who are looking for help.
Julio Jones was off to a slow start, but that all changed on Sunday when the Falcons star exploded with 300 yards receiving, but don't jump on the bandwagon so quick, Atlanta plays at Denver this week and facing one of the best defense in the league could have Jones back to the numbers he posted the first three weeks of the year.
Antonio Brown is the top ranked player in fantasy football and for good reason. The Steelers All Pro is averaging over 90 yards and one touchdown per game. This week Pittsburgh plays a struggling NY Jets side that has allowed too many big plays and even if he just hits his average for the year, 15+ points are great numbers for any starter on owners rosters.
The breakout player of 2016 is Detroit Lions Marvin Jones. His 120 yards per game is second in the league and his chemistry with Matthew Stafford assures he'll get plenty of targets. The experts project over 12 points this weekend and if he finds the end zone, looking for a much larger total.
With the bye weeks starting and a few star players under-performing, help can be found on the waiver wire for owners needing help. This weeks top option is NY Jets youngster Quincy Enunwa, who is averaging over 60 yards per game and becoming increasingly more important in the teams offensive structure.
Another option is Eddie Royal of Chicago. The Bears veteran wide receiver had over 100 yards and a score on Sunday and with injury concerns at the position for the team, he could see plenty of action in week 5 and have a big game for those who take a small risk and add him to their roster this week.
