NFL Fantasy Football: Week 2 running back rankings

By Larry Seely     Sep 14, 2015 in Sports
Seattle - Despite the passing game taking over offense in the NFL, running backs are still a major part of fantasy football and having the right players in each week can make a huge difference in points.
Week 2 has some great match ups for owners and for those on the fence about who to start, here's some early advice heading into next weekends contests and a look at a couple 'sleepers' that could be found on the waiver wire.
Marshawn Lynch had a less than memorable opener against St Louis, but this week he and his Seattle offense face a Green Bay defense that allowed nearly 200 yards rushing in their opener. With the Seahawks looking to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field, look for Lynch and company to keep it on the ground, which should help owners who have the "Beast" on their roster.
Injuries have already had an impact with several big name backs being hurt in week 1. For those looking for help on the waiver wire, T.J. Yeldon of Jacksonville could be a great pickup this week. The Jags face Miami, who allowed 161 yards on the ground to Washington and with limited options in the backfield, Yeldon could easily score 10+ points in week 2.
LeSean McCoy didn't have a breakout game in his first effort with Buffalo, but his team still won and that's great news for fans of the team. This week the Bills face AFC East rival New England in what should be one of the best games on the NFL schedule in week 2 and with the Pats' having trouble in rushing defense in their opener against Pittsburgh, look for McCoy to get plenty of touches and that makes 'Slim Shady' a must start this weekend.
A couple other running backs with good match ups in week 2 are Justin Forsett of Baltimore and Doug Martin of Tampa Bay. These players all have a shot at 10-15 points over the weekend and are must starters for any fantasy football owners with them on their roster.
