NFL Fantasy Football: Week two quarterback rankings

Drew Brees had a monster start to the season with over 400 yards and four touchdowns in the Saints loss to Oakland on Sunday and for those owners lucky enough to have the veteran on their roster, look for another big game this weekend against the NY Giants.

New York was solid against Dallas, but the Saints have more weapons at wide receiver and double coverage won’t be an option like it was with Dez Bryant. Brees might not have the same totals he had this past week, but he enters week two as the top ranked quarterback in the player rankings.

Cam Newton struggled in the second half of the Panthers loss at Denver on Thursday night, but expect both he and his squad to rebound against San Francisco. The 49ers defense isn’t expected to be very good in 2016, so look for Newton to have a big game with 25 or more points likely.

Derek Carr could be the best young signal caller in the NFL and the Oakland Raiders are a team on the rise. The silver and black host Atlanta on Sunday, a defense that allowed over 280 yards and four scoring passes to Tampa Bay in their opener, making Carr a great option for those looking for a good point total.

Injuries have already hit the league with Robert Griffin out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury, but help is available in fantasy football waiver wires. Rookies aren’t always a good option, but Philadelphia Eagles Carson Wentz was solid in the opener and has a good chance to have another strong start when facing Chicago on Monday night.

For those who had a star player get off to a slow start, no need to panic just yet. Wait at least another week before making a rash decision and look for the best match ups in the upcoming weeks football games.
