NFL Fantasy Football: Updated week one quarterback rankings

Here’s a look at the latest quarterback rankings for this weekend and analysis on who to play. A fast start is always the best option for making the playoffs in any league and a bit of research from owners is always a solid approach to having a successful season, so hopefully this helps those who are looking for some advice heading into week one.

Andrew Luck tops the list of must-start signal callers on Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts are home against Detroit, not exactly one of the best defenses in the league and looking for a fast start. Luck is healthy and has plenty of weapons, plus the Colts aren’t one of the better running teams in the league. Luck should be a 20+ point player this weekend and number one on the quarterback rankings list for those lucky enough to have the Indy’ offensive leader.

Drew Brees at home is always a solid option and despite playing an Oakland Raiders squad many feel could be a playoff contender, this game could turn into a shootout. The New Orleans Saints like to use the pass to setup the running game and Bress is one of the best in the league, making him a sure-fire starter in the opener.

Not all star QB’s should get a start this week and Cam Newton is one that could get off to a slow start. The Panthers hit the road on Thursday to face Denver, one of the best defenses in the NFL and his showing against the same squad in the Super Bowl wasn’t something to write home about. For those fantasy football owners with a good backup, it might be wise to bench the Carolina signal caller this week.

Those who took the gamble and drafted Robert Griffin, this could be a good week to have him playing on the active roster. Philadelphia will struggle this season and Cleveland won’t have many opportunities to have a big week on offense, but this week against the Eagles is a solid match up for the Browns and could be a big week for the former Baylor star and his new team.
