NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins to Cleveland Cavaliers?

The Cavaliers have been striking down speculation all summer that they are looking to move Kevin Love, but rumors persist and that could mean a deal is coming. The latest reports have Love and Tristian Thompson headed to Sacramento for All Star center DeMarcus Cousins and small forward Rudy Gay.

This potential trade helps Cleveland in different ways. First, it allows the front office to move two big money contracts which could potentially help resign J.R. Smith, a move that will solidify the back court and keep team chemistry intact, especially with the loss of Matthew Dellavedova to Milwaukee this summer.

The move would also give this basketball team a stronger presence in the paint and another scoring option, taking some pressure off LeBron James and making this a more all-around squad. Trading Love would also remove all the questions, on and off the court involving the former UCLA star and help bring this franchise together without questions and rumors following them around all season.

Sacramento has been looking to move both players and several reports have linked Gay wit the Lakers, but this trade would kill two birds with one stone and give the Kings two solid players to help with their rebuild, despite losing one of the best big men in the league.

With NBA training camps starting soon, the rumor mill has been buzzing on social media and while most trade scenarios are one-sided, this allows both teams to make a move they want, but also keeps their hopes and goals for the upcoming season in place, making this a win-win situation and puts Cleveland in a place where winning back-to-back titles is possible.
