With Cleveland winning the title last season and the likes of Boston, Miami and New York making big roster moves over the summer to improve, the squad north of the border did very little. In fact, most believe that resigning DeMar DeRozan, while a good move, was the only positive step the front office took this off season.
Toronto was linked with several players in trade talks in the middle of last season, but failed to pull the trigger. The team will now rely on some young players to fill those roles, but that could prove risky and that has led to speculation that management will make a big trade before the start of training camp.
Several names have been rumored on the move in the last few weeks, but the latest reports have a former Raptors star possibly heading back to where he began his career.
Chatt Sports has reported that Chris Bosh wants to play in the upcoming season and is working hard to get his conditioning back to where it needs to be, but it appears his welcome in Miami has worn out and a trade could happen.
The veteran big man would give Toronto the size and experience they need to compete against the Cavaliers and Celtics, but also a player that would feel comfortable in Canada. The former first round pick averaged 19 points and seven rebounds last year for the Heat and has been very consistent in his 13 years in the NBA.
Raptors fans and basketball experts agree that this squad needs another star if they want to contend for a championship and while Bosh has seen his best years already passes, he has enough left to help this franchise win their first title and best of all it could cost just Jared Sullinger and possibly another role player to complete, making this a win-win for all parties concerned.
