article imageNBA Scores: Thunder overcome slow start, smash Heat

By Larry Seely     Jan 29, 2014 in Sports
Miami Beach - The Miami Heat had their three All Stars healthy and ready to roll, but after opening an early 30-21 lead over OKC, the Thunder rallied for an impressive 112-95 victory in NBA action on Wednesday night.
Kevin Durant led the way for Oklahoma City, scoring a team high 33 points, but the star forward also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists in the big win on the road.
Defense was the name of the game as the Thunder used 13 steals which setup 20 points off the fast break to help in the victory. Thabo Sefolosha was starting for the injured Russell Westbrook and played terrific with nine points, six steals, and five rebounds.
It's not often Miami loses by double digits at home, but the Heat struggled to control the ball. LeBron James had a monster game with 34 points, but his three turnovers and 20 in total by the team was just too difficult to overcome.
The Thunder improved to 37-10 on the year and Miami dropped to 32-14 with just their fourth loss at American Airlines Arena. With plenty of time left in the year and so much talent on both sides of the ball, don't be surprised to see these two teams meeting again in the NBA Championships.
