DeMar DeRozan led the way, scoring 25 points, but it was far from a one man show as Amir Johnson added 20 points and nine rebounds, Nick Lowry added 19 points, and young center Jonas Valanciunas grabbed a game high 13 rebounds to go along with eight points on the evening.
Toronto
opened an early lead, but Detroit pulled to within five points by the end of the third quarter. The Raptors used the home crowd for an extra burst on energy and pulled away late to improve their record to 36-27, keeping a 1.5 games lead over Chicago for third in the East.
Detroit had five players score in double figures with Brandon Jennings leading the way with 24 points. The Pistons point guard made 10 of 15 shots from the floor, but the team managed just 34 of 78 shooting on the night, leading to the loss and
dropping Detroit to 25-40, 3.5 games behind Atlanta for the eighth spot in the East.
