article imageNBA Scores: Nuggets snap LA Clippers win streak with late rally

By Larry Seely     Mar 18, 2014 in Sports
Denver - The LA Clippers had won 11 straight games entering Monday night's NBA contest with Denver, but for the second straight year the Nuggets sent Los Angles home with a loss after a long winning streak.
Denver snapped the Clippers' longest winning streak in franchise history last season and the fans at the Pepsi Center got to see a repeat this year as they held LA scoreless over the last 3:31 of the game to get the win 110-100.
J.J. Hickson came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 21 points, but Kenneth Faried was the big man of the night, scoring 18 points and grabbing a game high 16 boards to help lead the late charge.
The win is one of the few highlights for Denver this season as the Nuggets improved to 30-37 and have little hope of making the NBA Playoffs. The LA Clippers dropped to 48-21, but still sit third overall in the Western Conference.
Chris Paul led the Clippers with 29 points and Blake Griffin added 26 points and 12 rebounds, but the Nuggets were too tough in the paint and well balanced on offense with every starter scoring at least11 points.
