article imageNBA Scores: Miami Heat rally past Pacers with strong second half

By Larry Seely     Dec 18, 2013 in Sports
Miami - Indiana looked to win their second game over Miami in the last few days, but the Heat rallied from an 11 point halftime deficit and defeated the Pacers 97-94.
Dwayne Wade and Ray Allen were big factors in the come from behind victory. Wade led all scorers with 31 points and Allen hit the go ahead basket late in the fourth quarter, moving Miami to within just one game of the Eastern Conference leading Pacers.
LeBron James showed little effects from a bad ankle that had the All Star questionable before the start of the contest. James scored 24 points, grabbed a team high nine rebounds, and dished out a game high seven assists as the Heat improved to 19-6 on the season.
Indiana had its chances, leading by as many as 15 points in the second half, but some cold shooting hurt their chances of another win over the World Champions. Paul George had another outstanding performance with 25 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, but his missed three point shot with just :04 remaining in the game sealed the loss and dropped the Pacers to 20-5 for the year.
The biggest surprise in the game was Miami dominating in the paint, scoring 20 more points than Indiana down low, but the heat also used the fast break well, scoring 21 points on the night when pushing the ball up the court, both were big factors in the win and a great confidence boost for the Heat.
